The COVID-19 pandemic and stay at home lifestyle has opened our eyes to how important engagement is across all channels of business. With various levels of preparedness, businesses around the world had to adapt quickly, to increase communication, make sales, and connect with partners. For companies that were able to stay the course, video was a main reason why. As a video marketing company, we have noticed how different companies are utilizing videos and different trends emerging.

Video Insight According To A Marketing Video Company

Video is changing the expectation for business continuity. A rise in short-form video has become more common on social media, as well as, in business, making it increasingly important to have professionally produced content. Although we have all been socially distant, this format can bring people together through the content it conveys.

Marketing video communication has shown increased engagement levels and therefore better results. Viewers retain 95% more information when it is given to them in the form of a video. We see video being used for various needs, including but not limited to, virtual event content, sales presentations, explainer videos, promotional videos, and corporate training.

Check out some of the video formats that are trending in business right now!

Animation

Visualized and developed by our design team, an animated video can take many forms.  It may be built with stylized iconography and branded graphic elements, it may be character-based, or it may be a 3-D styled animation, all typically narrated with a voice-over. These are used for demonstrating a product or service, training or education, or to visualize complex ideas.

Stock

A stock footage video tells a story using footage from a stock provider, which would generally be very costly or difficult to shoot. It may use voice-over narration or it may just use music and imagery to tell the story. This type of video might be used for a sales presentation or product pitch, to visualize information about specific industries or businesses, or to represent complex ideas in an abstract or metaphorical way.

Interview

Interview-based or scripted videos feature stories told by people on camera, such as employees, clients, or subject matter experts. Typically used for testimonials/credentials, case studies, team bios, or to present specific information about a new initiative, policy change or business process.

Live Shoot

Shot in a studio or on location, these videos usually involve many different aspects of production, such as casting actors, shooting against a green screen or custom sets, sophisticated lighting setups, and/or use of props. As a marketing video company, we typically don’t see this request as much due to higher production costs, we would be remiss not to include it in our roundup!

Video allows businesses to stay connected even beyond digital meeting rooms.

It eases the transition from in-person events and training into virtual experiences. Companies can now share product launches, communicate complex pitches in a simple way, and have a broader reach than in-person contact would allow. Video can generate more engagement, and improve conversion rates for your business.
